Nov 10, 2006 — Throughout her childhood, Chrissi Hart of Springettsbury Township heard the story of how St. Kendeas of Cyprus saved her grandmother's life.

Sunday, Hart told that story to about 15 children at St. John Chrysostom Antiochian Orthodox Church in York when she read her book "Under the Grapevine: A Miracle by St. Kendeas of Cyprus."

The book, published by Conciliar Press, a publishing arm of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, is a retelling of her grandmother's story. It is about a German-born monk the Orthodox Church recognizes as a saint for performing healing miracles. St. Kendeas probably lived between the 7th and 10th centuries.
